Finding My Want To

In the introduction of the book "Made to Crave" Lisa talks about finding your "want to".  We all know the "how to". Lisa writes "It's not the how to I'm missing . It's the "want to"....really wanting to make changes and deciding that the results of those changes are worth the sacrifice. This really sums it up for me. I could give you the calorie and carb content of just about every food on the shelves of the grocery store.  I know that more calories out than in equals weight loss.  When asked the question "Do I want to lose weight?", Um, YES!!  But, there is a whole other question being asked.  "Do you want to do what it takes to lose weight?"  Um, not really.  I don't want to get up at 5 a.m., I'd rather stay snuggled under the covers for another hour (or two).  I don't particularly want to have to keep track of my calories.  But these are things I must do if I'm going to lose the weight.

So this week my goal is to find my want to.  I am asking begging God this week to give me the desire to do whatever it takes to finally lose the weight and then keep it off.   I'm going to ask him to help me want to exercise, and even want to pass on those ooey, gooey brownies.
